Volvo Bus

Rear Engine - modern powerful and fuel-efficient:
The engine in the Volvo B7R, the Volvo D7E, is a modern 7.14 litre, six-cylinder diesel engine with a turbo-charger, Common Rail Direct Injection fuel system and an intercooler. The engine delivers 290 hp, with a maximum torque of 1200 Nm. The engine meets Euro III Emission Standards.

Hydraulic retarder:
The hydraulic retarder provides a good complement to normal braking, which considerably reduces wear on the brake pads. The hydraulic retarder, mounted on the gearbox output is a standard fitment on Volvo B7R.

Powerful disc brakes:
Volvo B7R has highly efficient disc brakes combined with Electronic Braking System EBS5, along with few components and compact design with ventilated discs for better cooling. Separate circuits for Front and Rear Wheels. The braking system ensures high safety, immense durability and longer service life. ABS anti-locking brakes are available as an option to further enhance safety levels. Asbestos-free brake pads have long been fitted as standard on all Volvo buses.

High performance gearbox:
Volvo B7R has a manuel gearbox, the ZF 6S 1380BD, with 6 forward and 1 reverse speed, which are fully synchronised - ensuring easy operations. Gearbox is lighter due to aluminium housing on Volvo B7R.

A well adapted powertrain:
The rest of the powertrain is adapted to enable the engine to provide as much power as possible.

High degree of ride comfort:
The Volvo B7R is fitted with air suspension, which effectively compensates for irregularities in the road surface and offers a high degree of ride comfort. Stabilizers are fitted as standard on both the front and rear, minimizing the tendency to roll over. With a 6.2 m wheelbase, the B7R has a small turning radius of 10.25 meters. MARK III Volvo -The New generation bus
Fly-by-wire technology is here, and the drivers of new generation Volvo buses are in for more driving pleasure.These buses will have auto pilot and roll back facilities.They will not be required to keep their right foot on the accelerator pedal any longer.These new generation buses will cost over Rs. 70 lakh each.
The improved Volvo buses will have features such as anti-roll-back mechanism and a mechanism that helps the buses get out of slushy conditions.These buses will be able to achieve 150 kmph speed. They cost over Rs. 70 lakh each as against the previous batch of Volvo buses that were priced at Rs. 63 lakh.
With auto pilot facility, the driver will only need to set the speed on the computer for the vehicle to move.Roll back has been a problem for big vehicles, particularly, when they are caught in traffic jams on a gradient. Anti-roll back mechanism ensures that the buses do not roll back.

The Volvo B9R is a weight-optimised chassis offering high reliability, low fuel consumption and good environmental properties, intended for tourist and express operations. The straightforward chassis design offers high capacity, while the fuel-efficient drive line
with our very latest 9-litre engine and Manual 6-speed gear changing system contributes to low operating costs. With the Volvo B9R you have a competitive alternative for all types of road. And a dependable foundation for high productivity and good overall economy.
The 13.70 metre long coach can accommodate 53 reclining seats, and with its high level of ride comfort, Volvo hopes the vehicle will do very well on long, inter-city routes in India.
